Atlanta Braves center fielder, B.J. Upton, left Friday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds with a right abductor strain. Upton was hurt as he came in on a line drive hit by Reds third baseman, Todd Frazier, in the first inning. After the waist-high line drive went off Upton's glove, it ricocheted off his left knee into right center field. Frazier was able to leg it into what the official scorer dubiously scored a triple. Joey Terdoslavich replaced B.J. Upton in the game and went in to play left field. Reed Johnson moved over to center from right field and Justin Upton moved from left to right. That makes two Braves outfielders hurt on successive nights. Braves right fielder Jason Heyward went out of Thursday night's game against the Reds with a strained right hamstring. Upton has not only struggled at the plate this season, he has also misplayed several routine line drives at Turner Field. It appears that he may be having trouble seeing the ball out of the ...

ATLANTA Braves centerfielder B.J. Upton left Friday's game against the Reds early on, after sustaining an apparent injury while diving for a line drive in the first inning.
With Atlanta trailing 2-0 and two outs in the opening frame, Upton rushed to make a play on Todd Frazier's low-to-the-ground liner. But Upton dropped to his knees just a fraction too early, momentarily...
ATLANTA The fans voted Freddie Freeman into the MLB All-Star Game, but a thumb injury might preclude the Braves first baseman from playing in the Midsummer Classic.
On Sunday, the Braves announced that Freeman would miss Sunday's game against the Reds, the season's unofficial first-half finale. As such, Freeman is questionable for Tuesday's All-Star Game at Citi Field...
Atlanta Braves rookie Evan Gattis was hitless in his first rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett Friday night.
Gattis went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts as the Gwinnett Braves lost 3-0 in a road game at Durham. He also struck out twice.
Gattis is expected to play with Gwinnett Saturday and Sunday. He will then either play with another Braves minor league team next week or continue...
ATLANTA Here are three things we learned from the Braves' 4-2 loss to the Reds on Friday night, before a boisterous, red-clad crowd of 43,275 at Turner Field:
1. Atlanta's absurd rash of outfield injuries have fortuitously come at an ideal time
On Thursday, Jason Heyward (two homers, nine RBI, 10 runs since June 14) incurred a strained hamstring against the Reds, the result...
Braves big ticket free agent signee B.J. Upton left today's game with a right adductor strain, the Braves announced. While the severity of the injury isn't known, losing Upton could be a blow to the team. While he has been under performing, he still is a valuable piece to the Braves.

No Justin Upton. No B.J. Upton. No Jason Heyward.
After winning without any of their injured big-name outfielders, the Atlanta Braves will again be shorthanded Sunday as they conclude a four-game home set against the slumping Cincinnati Reds.
One night after Heyward exited Thursday's 6-5 win with a strained right hamstring, the Upton brothers were hurt Friday in a...
Do yourself a favor: stop thinking about what will happen to Ryan Braun and dump him today! We’ve heard anywhere from a 50-game suspension to a lifetime ban as potential punishment for the wide-eyed Brewer. I don’t own Braun in any of my leagues (we were all given a heads up on his situation in [...]
It wasn't too long ago that people were talking about the surplus of outfielders the Atlanta Braves had on their roster. Three (supposedly) solid starters in Justin Upton, B.J. Upton, and Jason Heyward, and a strong bench that included hero-for-hire Evan Gattis and the newly transformed Jordan Schafer.
So how did Friday night's outfield end up looking like Joey
The Atlanta Braves newest all-star, Freddie Freeman, used Thursday night to show why he deserved to win the final NL spot. Freeman led the Braves (53-39) to a 6-5 victory in the first of four games against the Cincinnati Reds (51-41). It was around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday when Freddie Freeman and the Braves got the news they had hoped to hear. With 19.7 million votes, Freeman beat...
