Atlanta Braves third baseman Juan Francisco exited last night’s game against the New York Mets due to an ankle injury. The injury has been diagnosed as a mild ankle sprain, and the Braves are considering Francisco as day-to-day, according to David O’Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. #Braves Francisco has mild ankle sprain, listed as day-to-day — David O'Brien (@ajcbraves) May 4, 2013 Francisco injured his ankle during the third inning of last night’s game. He appeared to turn the ankle while going back to second base during a pick-off attempt. He was called out during the play, and soon after was removed from the game. Following Francisco’s exit, the Braves replaced him with Ramiro Pena. Francisco had been splitting time at the hot corner with Chris Johnson. Atlanta acquired him from the Cincinnati Reds last April in exchange for J.J. Hoover. Prior to sustaining his injury, Francisco was off to a nice start for the Braves. The 25-year-old was hitting .294/.324/.485 with one double and four home runs over 71 plate appearances. Follow @mlbinjurynews Looking for fantasy baseball advice?
