Jo-Jo Reyes struck out eight but walked three in four-plus innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits. The bullpen was solid behind him, and I feel obligated to mention Martinez after misspelling his name more than once. Freddie Freeman upped his hitting streak to eight games with a homer and two RBIs. He is 14-39 with three homers and 11 RBIs in his last ten games. J.C. Boscan added two hits and an RBI. Jordan Schafer went 0-4.

Mauro Gomez: 2-4, 2 HR, 3 RBI
Luis Bolivar: 1-3, HR, RBI

Jacob Thompson gave up a lot of hits and runs again. Gomez and Bolivar were the entire offense.

Myrtle Beach 4, Kinston 2

Brett Oberholtzer: 3 IP, H, ER, 3 K
Michael Jones: 2-3, 2B, 2 RBI
Luis Sumoza: 2-4, 3B, 2 RBI

Hoover put together a solid start for the first time in his last three starts, going six and not walking any while striking out seven. Jones and Sumoza were the entire offense. Mycal Jones added a double.

Rome 7, Greensboro 6
Chris Masters: 4 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, BB, K
Edward Salcedo: 0-4, 2 K
Philip Gosselin: 3-4, 2 RBI
Todd Cunningham: 2-3, 3B

Masters struggled for a third straight start but maintains a good ERA at 2.61. Salcedo went through some rough times in his Rome debut, flying out, grounding out, and striking out twice.
