to add an outfield bat, have interest in signing free-agent outfielder Cody
Ross, according to a major-league source.

expected to get into a bidding war for the center fielder’s services.
The Braves were also eyeing veteran outfielder Torii Hunter,
but the slugger is reportedly more interested in joining an American League
Ross signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Red Sox
last winter. Following his impressive 2012 campaign, he’s in line to receive a
deal in the three-year, $25-$30 million range.
