I think he's still got some juice left in him. I actually feel good about this trade!!

From MLB.com:
ATLANTA -- Julio Franco is the ultimate veteran presence.
With that in mind, the Braves, looking to add experience on the bench for the stretch drive, signed infielder Julio Franco to a contract for the rest of the season on Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed, and Franco will be activated for Thursday's game against St. Louis.
Nobody has more experience than Franco. The 48-year-old is a veteran of 24 Major League seasons, five of them with the Braves. He's the oldest player to ever hit a home run and he has collected 2,576 career hits in 2,512 games.

As a Braves fan I actually don't have a problem with this signing on the surface. What terrifies me is Bobby's ability to use Franco properly which should be as a pinch hitter off the bench and veteran leadership in the clubhouse. I don't think I could handle it if Father Time starts taking at bats away from Salty.

What are all these posts? You're posting something from MLB.com, but the link goes through to someone's profile page on a sports social network. You don't happen to... um... WORK for that social network, do you?

I do work on that site. We write blogs and network on other sites. The actual press release is from MLB.com but the opinions associated with it are those of the writer.

Well can you at least post links through to your blogs? What's the point of the links otherwise, other than to drive traffic to random pages on your site? Plus, that sort of copy/paste action is a no-no around here.

I'd love to post links, however, unless you're a registered user you will be unable to view the article. This way I'm giving credit where credit is due to the author of the blog. If they get to the profile of the author of the blog they like, then they will register in order to view other posts. It's only a no-no if I'm taking claim to these posts, which I in no way am.

The only thing better than the Mets getting rid of Franco is that he went to a competitor. Franco is an automatic out at this point in his career.
