PLAYERS: Tim Hudson
TEAMS: Atlanta Braves
Mlb-apr-braves-mets
The Braves have expressed an interest in bringing back recuperating veteran starter Tim Hudson, sources confirm. The Braves probably don't see him as a staff ace anymore, but he is a beloved leader of a rather young clubhouse. Hudson, 38, received a one-year offer from the Braves and also has received interest from the Indians and Royals, according to Mark Bowman of MLB.com. A native of Georgia who grew up in Alabama, he has stayed with the Braves before rather than seek the biggest deal. Hudson was on his way to a solid season (8-7, 3.98) in 2013 when he was lost for the year to a rather gruesome ankle injury suffered on a play at first base at Citi Field against the Mets in late July. Hudson won't receive a $14.1 million qualifying offer Monday, but could hope to possibly get somewhere close to the $9 million he made last year, esepcially if he's willing to leave. He is 205-111 with a 3.44 ERA in his career.

We’ll see what the offseason brings. But...
