Lillibridge has seven homers this season. For the last week or so many of us here in Chicago have taken notice of the solid play of Brent Lillibridge. He is currently third on the Chicago White Sox in homers (seven) and average (.289) and only has 76 at-bats. When the year started he was a long shot to make the team but ended up doing so because of his versatility to play all middle infield and outfield spots. From an offensive standpoint the only thing that was a given was his speed so it is a pleasant surprise to see him with a .632 slugging percentage, which would rank second in the AL behind Jose Bautista if he had the at-bats to qualify. So the question is raised, is this the real Brent Lillibridge? Many don’t believe so and you can’t blame anyone for that. He has never hit more than two home runs in a season in the big leagues and is a career .215 hitter. His only two full seasons at the minor league level saw him hit 13 home runs twice and have averages...
