The Victory Formation:
Before the Yankees were able to mount their ninth inning comeback in last night’s win over the Rangers, they needed a spectactular play by Brett Gardner in right-center to steal an extra-base hit from Elvis Andrus. Watch as Gardner tracks it all the way down from shallow-center to the deep right-center field, finishing it off with a dive grab. There isn’t much to write about in regards to the Yankees play as of late. Most of what is written surrounds their injured Captain, or the eventual suspension of A-Rod. Gardner is one of two players (Robinson Cano being the other) that have put together a solid season. Gardner’s speed in the outfield is incredible, and this was a perfect example of it.
BEST OF MAXIM
Brett Gardner's outstanding diving catch to end the eighth inning and rob Elvis Andrus of a sure double looks a lot better to Yankees fans after their team came back from a 4-3 deficit in the top of the ninth to beat the Rangers, 5-4.
Comebacks have been rare for the weak-hitting Yankees this season—especially with the bottom of the order coming up and down one — so...
It seems like Jay Z might be a man of his word, and is now cashing in on his promise to get all his Roc Nation clients plastered all over Madison Avenue.

With heavy news hitting the baseball world on Monday, one creative YouTube user reminded fans that America’s pastime still has its fun moments.
Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus have arguably the most entertaining relationship on the field as their friendship is filled with pranks, death stares and driving the other crazy. Despite scaring Rangers fans with their in-game hobby, the...
Teammates are usually friends, and it seems natural for a third baseman and a shortstop to be pals, but the left side of the Texas Rangers infield takes this friendship to a new level. Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus have clearly become very good friends, and you can tell just from watching them on the field.
Aside from being friends, Beltre and Andrus form one of the best third base...
The Red Sox went into the first weekend after the All Star break needing only 1 win over the Yankees to win their 20th series of the season, and their 60th game. On Saturday they handed in a disappointing performance, losing 5-2 with a lackluster display of hitting. Sunday was a different story, it was a game that if the Sox had lost could have sent...
When it comes to the second base market, the impending free agency of Robinson Cano has received the most attention. It’s Boston’s Dustin Pedroia, though, that is making a splash first, agreeing to a 7-year, $100 million extension with the Red Sox.
The deal will include a full no-trade clause, which is notable considering how Boston hit the reset button on their past two...
If Pedroia can get $100 million I can only fathom what Robinson Cano will command on the open market.
THIS JUST IN: Dustin Pedroia agrees in principle to 7-year, $100 million extension with Red Sox, running through 2021 season. (via @WEEI)

We can all agree that baseball is a horrible sport. It’s boring. It takes forever. There are no cheerleaders, and you have to sit outside in the summer. Oh, and every freakin person is cheating their balls off. Literally, their balls are shrinking and are no longer visible. My prediction is it’s a dead sport by 2020.
That being said, Adrian Beltre and Elvis Andrus are hysterical...

The Yankees can’t get the offense going in tonight’s 3-1 loss to the Texas Rangers.
