It’s that time again! Two weeks until pitchers and catchers report!!! Puts a smile on my face. The best part is that there is no hype. No expectations with this team. No pressure. Just the way I like it. Now, relax and enjoy the LosersBracket official positive Brewers Preview post, no doubt to be followed by frantic ranting throughout the season. 2013 could be special! What was the brewers biggest downfall last year? The bullpen. They blew 28 leads after the 7th inning. 28!!! If the Crew would have cut  that in half, they would have won the division. So Melvin went out and did a fabulous job in improving the pen. First he traded for a guy who led the NL in ERA out of the bullpen last year (Burke Badenhop). Only had to give up a low single A player (Raul Mondesi Jr.) Yes the son of former major leaguer. The Brewers then signed 2 really good lefties (Tom Gorzelanny) to combat the lefties in Cincy, one of which was a former closer (Mike Gonzalez). Combine those three additions with Jim Henderson hopefully repeating last years success and Axford pitching the way he is suppose to…..the brewers just might have a top 1/4 bullpen. How great would that be? Did you Losers know that the brewers had the best offense in NL last year? And that the pitching staff came real close to breaking the all-time strikeout records? Want some more positivity? Hell yeah you do! The Brewers’ bench will be good for a change, they Just signed Alex Gonzalez back, Reed Johnson will be a nice backup in OF and Lyle Overbay (if signed) will be a good clubhouse presence. Other random bright spots include Taylor Green and reports were everyone loved Gonzalez…..Lucroy said he was the best in clubhouse. The only problem I see is the starting rotation. While young and talented, 5 out of the 7 potential guys for the rotation have yet to pitch 200 innings. That could be a problem later in season. Their arms aren’t yet built for 162 game season because this kind of longevity takes time/seasons. That’s why they shut down Thornburgh & Peralta last year and wanted to do the same with Fiers, but couldn’t do to the fact they were in the chase near the end. Fiers was gassed and had a 7.50 ERA in last month of season. That dead arm thing is real and takes time to build up. Reports are The Brewers are interested in Kyle Lohse. Maybe need to sign him. 1 year maybe 2. But wait till his price goes down. I think he wants around 15 million per year. I don’t know. I’m pretty excited about this team this year. Oh yeah, Ryan Braun is pretty good too.   GO CREW!!! Oh yeah. Yovanni is a really good pitcher. And Corey Hart is one of the most underrated hitters in baseball.
