Sports Business Digest:
Starting this season, the Milwaukee Brewers will have a new sponsor for the Milwaukee Brewers Radio Network post-game show.
The sponsor? The Wisconsin Department of Tourism.
TravelWisconsin.com will be the presenting sponsor of the post-game show for every regular season game in the 2013 season. The post game show will officially be known as the TravelWisconsin.com Post Game Show.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
While it may seem odd to promote state tourism in a city within the state (they're already there...) apparently the partnership will have a positive impact,
“The sponsorship offers co-branding value with the Brewers and provides TravelWisconsin.com with a longer statewide presence through the peak summer and fall travel season,” said deputy tourism secretary Dave Fantle. (via Milwaukee Biz Journal)
Brewers fans can hear the TravelWisconsin.com Post Game Show on the Brewers flagship station, WTMJ-AM (620).

Instead of spending time playing in the World Baseball Classic, Jeff Bianchi will be rehabbing an injury.
The Brewers announced Tuesday that their reserve infielder had to withdraw from playing with Italy in the WBC because of a left groin strain suffered in last Saturdays spring training game.
Born in the United States but of Italian descent, Bianchi was expected to be Italys starting...
Yovani Gallardo's future in the World Baseball Classic will be determined Tuesday night.
The Milwaukee Brewers' ace pitcher will start and throw an inning in Mexico's exhibition game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Salt River Fields, testing how he's recovered from a groin strain.
The Brewers will have a member of their training staff and pitching coach Rick...
The Milwaukee Brewers are hoping to repeat their success of the second half of the 2012 season. They are just hoping to do it throughout the entire 2013 season. The Brewers surged in the second half last year and came close to making the playoffs as one of the National League Wild Cards. They had an incredible offense last season and will look to score runs at a torrid pace...
Milwaukee Brewers can breathe a sigh of relief. Power-hitting third baseman
Aramis Ramirez underwent an MRI on his sprained left knee on March 4, one day
after leaving the Brewers’ Spring Training game against the Los Angeles Angels.
The results released on March 5 showed no structural damage. Ramirez
will sit out for seven to ten days – and possibly two full weeks...
In the This Is My Nightmare series, we'll take a look at what the absolute worst case scenario for each team would be in 2013. Think of it as the negative complement to our You May Say I'm A Dreamer series that we'll be running during our preview series.
It’s pretty easy to imagine what the worst nightmare for the 2013 Brewers would be -- MLB somehow finding enough...

Can the Brewers compete with such inexperienced starting pitching?
That's not to say the rotation isn't good -- there's plenty of minor league success among this group. Mike Fiers had a minor league ERA of 2.80, including a 1.86 ERA in Double- and Triple-A in 2011 before a successful rookie campaign in...
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Ryan Braun understands why many people are skeptical of him, given the way his name has twice been linked to performance-enhancing drugs.
He refuses to let it bother him.
On a sun-splashed field in Arizona, the Brewers slugger said that getting back to spring training has helped him deal with the swirling controversy, and that playing for the U.S. team in...
The Milwaukee Brewers had a very good finish to their 2012 season. After winning the NL Central in 2011, the team slipped last year, mostly because of the loss of 1B Prince Fielder. At one point, the Brewers had won 24 out of 30 games to get themselves back in the race. However, they lost out by losing 7 of their last 12 to finish the season. The Brewers have committed themselves...

PHOENIX -- Milwaukee Brewers right fielder Norichika Aoki entered spring training in 2012 with an uncertain role.
A then-30-year old Japanese League All-Star in his first season in the majors, Aoki was listed as the team's fourth or fifth outfielder and was viewed by many as a low-cost insurance policy in case Ryan Braun's...
The Brewers are coming off a disappointing season that saw them trade their ace (Zack Greinke) and make a late season run. They’re starting the season without a first baseman and questions in the rotation; will this keep them from competing?

Rickie Weeks got three hits and roster hopefuls Khris Davis and Hunter Morris homered as the Milwaukee Brewers beat Seattle 7-6 Wednesday, ending the Mariners' 10-game winning streak.
Kendrys Morales hit a two-run homer and Michael Morse also connected for the Mariners. Seattle's winning string had been its longest ever in spring training.

The 2013 baseball season, and specifically his first major league spring training, couldn't start soon enough for Milwaukee Brewers prospect Hunter Morris.
"It's great to be in big-league camp," the 6-foot-3 first baseman said. "With the season I had last year, I was hoping to be here. The whole offseason...
