The Milwaukee Brewers have avoided arbitration with Carlos Gomez, signing the outfielder to a one-year contract worth just under $2 million.Gomez appeared in 94 games with the club last season, hitting .225 with eight home runs and 24 RBIs over 231 at-bats.The 26-year-old is entering his third season with the Brewers after spending time with the New York Mets and Minnesota Twins.His best season came in 2008, when he had seven homers, 59 RBIs and 33 steals with the Twins.
