A long list of great hitters have worn a Brewers jersey over the years, but no Milwaukee player has racked up 1,000 hits as fast as left fielder Ryan Braun, who reached the milestone Friday night in Cincinnati. Braun got hit No. 1,000 in his 815th game with the team on a fourth-inning dribbler up the middle against Reds pitcher Homer Bailey. The hit was his second of the night in his first game back after sitting out Wednesday's matchup with a groin injury. Hall of Famers and Brewers legends Paul Molitor and Robin Yount were the next-fastest to reach the milestone, hitting the mark in 835 and 948 games, respectively. Both finished their careers with more than 3,000 hits. Ninety active major leaguers have reached the 1,000 hits only four players other than Braun, including former teammate Prince Fielder, have reached the mark before turning 29. Braun will turn 29 in November. Milwaukee's star outfielder is having another MVP-worthy season with a .309 average, 26 home runs, and 65 RBI heading into Friday's game.Follow Ryan Kartje on Twitter.
