PLAYERS: Ryan Braun
TEAMS: Milwaukee Brewers
Brewers_vs_padres_8113
The Milwaukee Brewers were a bit light in the outfield yesterday, as regulars Ryan Braun and Norichika Aoki were sidelined. Braun is being eased back into regular action after his recent activation from the disabled list, while Aoki is battling a sore elbow. Neither ailment is considered significant, and both players are expected to rejoin the Brewers’ lineup today, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. The Brewers are expected to continue to take things slow with Braun. After today’s expected start, the slugger will likely get the day off on Friday before starting one of the team’s games over the weekend prior to the All-Star break. Manager Ron Roenicke told reporters Braun is feeling “pretty good,” and Milwaukee will do what it can to ensure that continues. Aoki was scratched from the Brewers’ lineup on Tuesday night due to discomfort in his elbow. Milwaukee opted to give him another night off Wednesday, as Roenicke said the injury was “a little better, but not good enough to where we felt he was comfortable to go out and play.” Roenicke admitted that the Brewers’ lineup is extremely thin right now, as the team is already without middle-of-the-order bats Corey Hart and Aramis Ramirez. They should get at least somewhat of a boost tonight with the return of Braun and Aoki. Follow @mlbinjurynews Looking for fantasy baseball advice?
