Ryan Braun is getting treatment for his ailing neck every day. He's just not ready to play yet.
The slugger was out of the lineup again on Sunday as injury-riddled Milwaukee hosted Arizona in the finale of a weekend series. The Brewers began the day with a four-game losing streak.
''There is never a good time for it,'' Braun said. ''It's never easy. But it's that much more challenging to watch when you have other guys hurt and we're not off to a great start. It's not fun for me to sit here and watch, that's for sure.''
Braun took batting practice Friday, but was scratched from the lineup due to spasms on the right side of his neck and replaced in left field by Khris Davis. The 2011 NL MVP missed Saturday's 9-2 loss to the Diamondbacks.
''It's a little bit better today than yesterday,'' Braun said Sunday.
Logan Schafer got the start in left for the finale of Milwaukee's season-opening, six-game homestand.
The Brewers put third baseman Aramis Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a sprained left knee, but they don't think Braun will need time on the DL to recover. Milwaukee was already without first baseman Corey Hart, who is expected to miss the first month of the season recovering from right knee surgery.
Braun had at least one hit in each of Milwaukee's first three games and is 4 for 10 with a home run and four RBIs this season.

This weekend Ryan Braun did not play due to neck spasms, while Aramis Ramirez (knee) was placed on the disabled list. Clearly the Milwaukee Brewers are not the same without their 2 best hitters, while already missing Corey Hart.
