MILWAUKEE -- Brewers' fifth starter Chris Narveson was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Friday with a torn rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder. Narveson was scheduled to start in Milwaukee's second game of its series with Colorado, but instead, Brewers' manager Ron Roenicke said today that reliever Marco Estrada would get the start on Saturday. "(Narveson) has been pretty sore since his last outing," Roenicke said before Friday's opener with the Rockies. "He woke up the next day with a really sore shoulder, so we've been talking about it for a while." Narveson has had an MRI, but Roenicke is still unsure of the extent of the injury to the left-hander. As the fifth starter this season, Narveson was 1-1 with a 7.00 ERA in two starts. His replacement, Estrada, has pitched six innings this year with a 3.00 ERA in relief. He did start seven games for the Brewers last season, finishing 3-2 in those matchups. Additionally, with Kameron Loe going on bereavement leave starting Saturday, Milwaukee called up reliever Mike McClendon and will call up starting pitcher Wily Peralta from Triple-A Nashville. Roenicke said that they had considered Peralta for the start vacated by Narveson's injury, but Estrada's success last season gave him the edge.
