The Milwaukee Brewers placed lefthander Chris Narveson on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday, one day after cutting his thumb on his pitching hand with scissors.
Narveson, who has posted an 8-6 mark with a 4.49 ERA this season, was originally scheduled to start Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Zack Greinke may be moved up to take Narveson's spot on Friday.
