Yesterday we heard that 24 players in the Pittsburgh Pirates system had elected minor league free agency. Â Baseball America has an update today on their minor league transactions that left handed pitcher Brian Burres has elected for free agency. Â Burres was recently outrighted off of the 40-man roster.
That leaves the status of outfielder Steve Pearce up in the air.  Pearce would be eligible for minor league free agency this year, which means he either hasn’t filed yet, or has filed and we haven’t heard about it.
