Arroyo was dealing, as the Reds won Thursday. The bats finally came to life in the series finale between Cincinnati (5-8) and St. Louis (9-4). That coupled with an outstanding starting performance from Bronson Arroyo (1-0) helped the Reds avoid a sweep against their bitter rivals. Arroyo was the first Reds' starter to get a win, since Johnny Cueto did so on Opening Day. The Reds scored early, and added a few insurance runs near the end of the game, while Sean Marshall picked up his second save of the season. Let's look at the good, the bad, and the notables from the Reds' win: The Good: -Arroyo struck out five, and allowed just five hits over eight innings.
