The Pirates cut seven more players today as Brian Bass, Vinnie Chulk, Jeff Karstens, Steven Jackson, Anthony Claggett, Jeremy Powell, and Luke Carlin were all reassigned to minor league camp.Vinnie Chulk is a bit of a surprise as he had a pretty decent shot at the last bullpen spot.Also, the fact that Carlin got cut means that he will not be in the mix for the backup catcher position. The Pirates have expressed that they may send Jason Jaramillo to AAA to get regular at bats. If the Bucs decide to do that, then Erik Kratz would head north with the club.
