Marlon Byrd may be gone, but he still may have a big impact on the Mets going forward. You see, Before departing the Mets in a trade to the Pirates last week, the veteran Byrd told his Southern California neighbor Josh Satin that he will spend time this offseason teaching him to play the outfield, according to the New York Post. Satin, who has been mainly a corner infielder throughout his pro career, understands that the more versatile he can make himself, the greater the odds are that he can stick with the Mets next season.
