Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera is out of the starting lineup Sunday against the Chicago White Sox after leaving the previous night's game with groin soreness.
Manager Jim Leyland says he's concerned about Cabrera, who is finishing up a spectacular season at the plate but has been bothered by a number of nagging injuries over the last couple months.
Cabrera is hitting .349 with 44 home runs and 136 RBIs.
Detroit can clinch its third straight AL Central title with a win Sunday and a loss by Cleveland.
Cabrera had three hits and a walk Saturday, so he is still a threat at the plate. But he has labored quite a bit on the basepaths.

It may be time to consider resting Cabrera.

DETROIT -- The way things have been going, it's doubtful that Miguel Cabrera will be able to get 100 percent healthy before the end of the season.
Of course, the Tigers and Cabrera both hope the end of their season doesn't come for several weeks.
