Miguel Cabrera has his manager's back -- and video evidence to prove it. A YouTube video has surfaced that shows Cabrera at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago this week, signing autographs and holding a sign under his left arm. The words on the sign, although turned away from the camera, can be seen through the poster board and appear to say "FIRE LEYLAND." While Cabrera goes about his business of making fans happy, one man heckles him for taking the sign and about some recent controversial roster moves by Leyland -- using struggling players Ryan Raburn and Don Kelly. The man even asks Cabrera if he's happy Leyland's contract is almost up. Cabrera, who eventually gives the sign to a security person, never says a word to the Leyland opposer. Cabera's actions speak louder.

Miguel Cabrera takes fan's 'Fire Leyland' sign

Here’s Tigers’ slugger Miguel Cabrera taking away a fan’s “Fire Leyland” sign the other day prior to a game against the Chicago White Sox. Initially, you can see Miguel was annoyed. But, then realized he should probably give it back, for whatever reason. The fan was later removed during the game. I also couldn’t help but notice the fan being unable to pronounce Miguel…...

Miguel Cabrera takes ‘Fire Leyland’ sign away from a fan (Video)

The Detroit Tigers are one of several teams across professional baseball that have fallen well short of expectations this season. As a result, Jim Leyland is one of several managers with whom fans are frustrated. After adding Prince Fielder to an already solid roster, the Tigers were expected to cruise through the AL Central. Fortunately for them, they are only a game out of first...

Miguel Cabrera takes “Fire Leyland” sign

If there is one thing that you can say about Jim Leyland, it’s that he likes “his guys” to a fault.  If there is a second thing you can say, it’d be that his players always have his back.  That was evident earlier this week when Miguel Cabrera took a “Fire Leyland” sign out of rebelling Tigers’ fan’s hands. According to Detroit Sports Rag, the fan’s name is Justin...

Tigers OF Raburn goes to DL with quad strain

The Detroit Tigers placed outfielder Ryan Raburn on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a strained right quadriceps. Raburn had only played in three games since missing over a month with a right thumb problem. Tigers manager Jim Leyland had said repeatedly throughout Detroit's series with the Chicago White Sox that Raburn was being held out of the lineup because he looked...

Video: Prince Fielder forgets number of outs, plays it off

Your browser does not support iframes. Detroit Tigers slugger Prince Fielder did his best Keith Stone impression during Friday's night game versus the Cleveland Indians. The incident occurred during the bottom of the fourth when Fielder made a routine play to record the second out of the inning. Except in Fielder's mind, it was out number three. Instead of simply acknowledging...

75-67, 2nd place, 1 game behind CWS. Scherzer was spectacular again, and with his team leading 16th win, he’s got an outside shot at 20 wins this year. “So that gets us to tonight.
