According to the Detroit Free Press, Miguel Cabrera has said he will be playing third base.  I don't know how well that will work out and normally I would be against such a move.  However, they get so little offense out of Brandon Inge/ Don Kelly, it can't hurt to try it.  That will be quite an infield both offensively...and defensively.  Perhaps, they can move Cabrera to designated hitter when

Cabrera, Prince will anchor the corners for Tigers

DETROIT -- Manager Jim Leyland confirmed that with the signing of Prince Fielder, Miguel Cabrera will return to his roots as a third baseman. Some speculated with the injury to designated hitter Victor Martinez that Fielder and Cabrera would split first base and designated hitter, but Leyland said that would not be the case. He said Cabrera would begin spring training as the everyday...

Prince Fielder and the Worst Infield in Baseball

3rd Baseman? SureWith the signing of Prince Fielder, everyone expects the Detroit Tigers to score a lot more runs next year. And they better. Apparently, for some reason that I cannot comprehend, the Tigers plan on Fielder playing1st Base and moving Miguel Cabrera to 3rd. For Cabrera, this may have been an okay move about 60 pounds ago, but now it is laughable. Cabrera's last...

Tigers' Cabrera willing to switch to third base

Miguel Cabrera is on board with Prince Fielder hitting behind him in the Detroit Tigers' lineup and said he's willing to return to third base.

Doubters abound on Miguel Cabrera's move to 3B

Miguel Cabrera said he was moving back to third base to make room on the Tigers' infield for free-agent signee Prince Fielder at first base. In order to play third effectively, Cabrera must lose weight, former major league infielder Harold Reynolds said Wednesday.

Drew Sharp: Fielder makes a lot of sense for Tigers in 2012, but not beyond

It makes absolutely no sense paying two guys who basically are the same player more than $45 million annually. And anyone who thinks Miguel Cabrera "easily" could move to third base or leftfield, do you need a reminder of how badly that played out in 2008?

How will Miguel Cabrera handle the hot corner?

With Prince Fielder apparently in line to play first base and Miguel Cabrera telling a Venezuelan publication that he was moving to third base, well, we can think of a few important questions:

Prince Fielder Signing Fallout

The dust is still settling on the Prince Fielder signing, and we're still learning and digesting a lot of information about the signing. We've just learned, that contrary to my earlier post immediately after the signing happened, that Fielder will in fact be the primary first baseman for the Tigers, and that Miguel Cabrera will apparently be moving to third base, where he...
