A TV cameraman made what has to be the most nonchalant one-handed catch of a foul ball this season— and he didn't stop doing his job while grabbing the ball.
During the first inning of the Chicago Cubs-Atlanta Braves game Thursday night at Turner Field, a foul ball was hit in the direction of the cameraman wearing a Braves hat— so you know he works for TBS— on the second level of the stadium. Without taking his eye off the camera, he snags the fly ball with one hand.
Or maybe the showoff was just watching himself on the camera monitor.
Don't get confused by the SNY (New York Mets) anchor introducing this clip. The woman was so stoked about David Wright's game-winning hit against the Phillies on the same night, she sounded pretty disappointed after her producers chose this video as the play of the day and not Wright's big hit at Citi Field.
If there was a game to watch this summer you have to start with last night’s dramatic come from behind win in the bottom of the 9th . With some incredible pitch selection and of course a 2 out by Mr clutch for the nite David Wright the Mets beat the Phillies last night 6-5.
The win kept r A dickey win streak alive since he was off the hook for a loss. The Phillies seem to have his number
WALK-OFF RECORD: David Wright singled home Jordany Valdespin to give the Mets a 6-5 walkoff win over the Phillies last night. It was Wright’s eighth career walkoff RBI, tying him with Kevin McReynolds for the most in franchise story. Wright’s previous walkoff RBI came on August 7, 2008 when he took San Diego’s Heath Bell deep.
RBI MACHINE: David Wright had four RBI last...
In the home half of last night’s come from behind victory over the Phillies, New York Mets third basemen David Wright capped off the rally with his third hit of the game , a bloop single that dropped just in front of Phillies right fielder Hunter Pence. The two-out RBI single plated Jordany Valdespin from third as the Mets collected their fourth walk-off victory of the year...
For those of you who missed the first half of the season, you got the gist of things if you tuned in last night’s victory over the Phillies.
David Wright, who delivered the game-winner in the ninth along with hitting a homer, said as much when he indicated the Mets worked every at-bat and utilized every out. No waste for these Mets.
“It seems like all year we’ve had that never...
NEW YORK -- David Wright's final hit of the night dropped slowly, agonizingly in front of Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Hunter Pence before finally falling to the ground in the bottom of the ninth. When it did, it landed with a thud, much like Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon did a batter before, when he landed on his backside, in his vain attempt to field Daniel Murphy...
David Wright singled off Jonathan Papelbon with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting the New York Mets to a 6-5 comeback victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night that preserved R.A. Dickey's 11-game winning streak.
Daniel Murphy lined a shot off Papelbon's leg for the tying run with two outs, setting the stage for Wright.
Cole Hamels outlasted...
Wow, still on a big-high from last night. I woke up happy and ready to take on the day this morning. The hell with breakfast, I’m brimming with plenty of energy. We’ve always called the Mets-Phillies match-ups a big rivalry, but let’s face it, it’s tough to call the last five years anything more than a Slaughterhouse 5 for the Mets. Last night however, that was huge. Now...
The New York Mets (44-37) defeated the Philadelphia Phillies (36-46) last night by a score of 11-1. The Mets now find themselves alone in second place in the NL East, 3.5 GB the Nationals.
Winning Pitcher: Jon Niese (7-3, 3.35) pitched eight innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks. However, he only had three strikeouts, which is rare for Niese when he pitches a...
In the past decade, the Mets minor league system has not been regarded with any kind of respect. Although the minor league system has produced David Wright, Jose Reyes, and several of the starters on this 2012 team, it has also seen many “top prospects” fizzle out or not reach their full potential. This lack of respect comes from prospects like Philip Humber, Fernando Martinez...
