AP St. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Marc Rzepczynski had a pretty freaky injury to his eye when he was golfing recently, which will cause him to miss some time from the baseball diamond. Rzepczynski was scheduled to pitch Saturday, but was hit in the eye during a round of golf, according to the the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. On his second shot on the first hole of a round of golf, Rzepczynski attempted to punch shot around a tree. He made the shot and collapsed, his eye struck and bruised by something. The golf ball traveled far enough that he is unsure how it could ricochet off the tree and his eye and still carry into the fairway. He is unsure if something else was hit by the club and damaged his eye. The Dispatch also says that an acorn and a rock are also possible objects that could have caused the injury. Luckily for Rzepczynski, nothing really serious happened to his eye. The post Cardinals Pitcher Had Freak Eye Injury While Golfing appeared first on FootBasket.
