Found May 30, 2012 on The Cardinal Nation blog:
MLB Network has announced its live game schedule for the month of June. The St. Louis Cardinals will be presented in a primary or alternate telecast four times. This coverage is in addition to the regular game telecasts on FOX Sports Midwest, but there is a catch. Those outside the St. Louis broadcast territory will be the only ones with a chance to view these games in this manner. In addition, the opposition’s broadcast feed may be selected instead of the Cardinals’ crew. None of these games are scheduled to have MLB Network broadcasters calling the action. Still, if you live outside the market, you should note these dates as you may be able to catch the Cardinals via this method through your satellite or cable system. As always, check your local listings to confirm details and times. June 4: at New York Mets (afternoon game) June 14: vs. Chicago White Sox (alternate game) June 19: at Detroit Tigers June 23: at Kansas City Royals Follow me on Twitter. Tony La Russa, future oil baron?

Since retiring from managing the St. Louis Cardinals following their 2011 World Championship, Tony La Russa hasn’t been reclining in an easy chair or tending a vegetable garden. Among his many activities included working with one of the losing bidders for the Los Angeles Dodgers, assisting friend Jim Leyland with the Tigers during spring training and a role in the MLB commissioner’s...

Bullpen still sorting out roles

ST. LOUIS - A conversation in Mike Mathenys office lasts more than 20 minutes. Questions about his struggling bullpen take up more than half the time. The first-year manager is quickly learning that handling a bullpen and all the decisions that come with it is one of the toughest tasks he has. And one of the most scrutinized. But despite the continued questioning about the Cardinals...

Early season fun is over for St. Louis Cardinals

Almost all of the preseason fears have been realized in the last three weeks for St. Louis Cardinals fans as the team eventually fell from its perch atop the NL Central. Aside from shortstop Rafeal Furcal, every older position player has experienced an injury that either placed them on the disabled list or kept them out of the starting lineup for multiple games. And those injuries...

A Cards Diaspora Public Service Announcement

David Freese. Remember that guy? He grew up in St. Louis. He had a couple of minor hits last postseason. He rocketed to fame. And he has an off-day on JUNE 28.While many of us in his position would use off-days wandering Washington Avenue looking for Kama Sutra partners, Mr. Freese is holding a baseball camp at his former high school (Lafayette) for boys and girls 6 to 14.DETAILS...

GIFcap: Carlos Beltran gives teammate the finger, gives us a versatile GIF

How did I miss this? Carlos Beltran casually gives the finger to a teammate (I believe), all while being highlighted by the broadcast

Greene Day

I like the band Green Day. Deal with it. They have a song called “Boulevard of Broken Dreams” that I can picture another green, well actually Tyler Greene to be more specific, humming over the last few years. I walk a lonely road The only one that I have ever known Don’t know where it goes But it’s home to me and I walk alone I walk this empty street On the Boulevard...

Garcia to miss start with elbow discomfort

Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia returned to St. Louis Tuesday to undergo an magnetic resonance imaging on his left elbow after informing the club of discomfort following his start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. General manager John Mozeliak confirmed that an MRI taken Wednesday morning came back negative but that the lefty would miss his scheduled start Friday against...

Cards shuffle partial relief deck Thursday

Maikel Cleto called up with Brandon Dickson and Chuckie Fick returned to Triple-A Memphis as the St. Louis Cardinals shift relievers.

Showered with praise in April, Cardinal pitchers faded in May

A 13-16 record compiled in May when the Cardinals bungled several games they could/should have won has manager Mike Matheny looking for answers. Now. "When the offense (.281 average, 66 home runs) is doing what they're doing, everybody else has to do their part," Matheny said. "Whether it is the defensive side, whether it is the pitching side, you've...

Sunday: The Phils winning streak ends as the Cards are all over the Phils, losing 8-3.

Three home runs do in the Phils as their winning streak ends at four straight, as they lose to the world champs, 8-3. The Cards took a commanding lead in the first as, with the bases loaded, via singles by Skip Schumaker and Matt Holliday, with Schumaker stopping at second base, with both runners then moving up to third and second base, respectively, on Carlos Beltran’s ground...

OPS Fantasy Leagues: Lancelot, The Knight Of Injuries

Lance Berkman was a renaissance man. Last year he reached 30 home runs for the first time since 2007 and his .959 OPS was his highest since 2008. I credit this turnaround to him staying healthy, and, despite his age, remaining incredibly talented. His 2011 season was not a fluke because his plate discipline and batted ball statistics were generally in line with his career rates....

Varied Cardinals weekend ahead in New York

Coming off another disappointing series with two out of three losses in Atlanta and mounting injuries (Jaime Garcia and Skip Schumaker being the latest), the St. Louis Cardinals move on to the Big Apple and start a fresh month in the process. The upcoming four-game weekend series is a bit unusual in several aspects, including a different start time for each of the four contests...
