St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran has been better than advertised during his first season in St. Louis. After signing a two year, $26 million contract last winter to come to St. Louis, the often-injured outfielder has managed to stay healthy and has produced more than plenty at the plate.
Beltran collected three more hits in Wednesday night's 1-0 win over the Chicago White Sox and hit his National League leading nineteenth home run to help propel the Cardinals to victory.
Beltran's sweet switch-hitting swing has translated well at Busch Stadium. Beltran is on pace to break his career high of 41 home runs he hit in 2006 as a member of the New York Mets. His power stroke has certainly been on display in 2012 and the Cardinals have needed every one of his long balls.
