New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has someone feeling bad for him and that is Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks.
”I feel bad for A-Rod,’’ Anthony said. “I don’t like to see anyone go through that.’’
A-Rod was benched three times in the playoffs including the final two games of the ALCS against the Detroit Tigers.  He came in as a pinch hitter in the Yankees' elimination game, going 0-for-2.
“I’m obviously not doing somersaults,” Rodriguez said during the series. “I’m not happy about it. Obviously you come to the ballpark feeling that you can help the team win, and when you see your name is not in the lineup you’re obviously disappointed. You’ve got to just shift to being a cheerleader and also make sure that you’re ready when your number is called.”
Melo was Asked if he's ever been benched, he replied, “Never. I can’t imagine being benched like that.’’
Anthony said he began to root for the Yankees again after they beat his team the Baltimore Orioles in the ALDS.

New York Post Rips Alex Rodriguez, Yankees With 'We Don't Date Losers' Cover (Photos)

As beautiful as Kyna Treacy may be, she still dates losers. Just don't tell the New York Post that. On Friday, the New York Post ripped Alex Rodriguez and the Yankees -- who were swept out of the ALCS on Thursday night by the Detroit Tigers -- by creating a cover that mocks the reported rumor of A-Rod hitting on women during a postseason game earlier this month...

Yankees confirm that A-Rod was hitting on women during the game

The New York Yankees have not said much in regards to Joe Girardi benching Alex Rodriguez during the ALCS, in which the Yankees were swept by the Detroit Tigers. There were some that wondered if the move by Girardi was well received by team management and ownership. They aren’t entirely too pleased with Alex, either. [...]

New York Post mocks Yankees, Alex Rodriguez

The New York Yankees were eliminated from postseason play after they were swept away by the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS. Anything that could wrong for the Yanks did go wrong. Lack of hitting, a broken ankle, and scouting for babes rather than playing baseball all contributed to their ultimate demise. And the New York Post added salt to the wound by running this cover on Friday...

A-Rod Saga has Direct Impact on Phillies Future

Alex Rodriguez Says He'll Be Back With Yankees in 2013 Amid Heavy Speculation About His Future

During this postseason, Alex Rodriguez has almost become a sympathetic figure. Imagine that. That little incident where the third baseman reportedly tried to hit on a woman behind the Yankees' dugout during the game notwithstanding, Rodriguez has seemed to be largely scapegoated by the team for its collective offensive struggles, yet handled it with grace. Amid being pinch hit...

MLB Rumors: Brian Cashman Says Alex Rodriguez Is No MVP Superstar For New York Yankees

Brian Cashman is going to get asked a lot of questions this offseason. Some will be about the New York Yankees’ postseason struggles. But the majority of questions Cashman will be forced to deal with on a daily...

Yankees Want Alex Rodriguez to Focus Less on Being Celebrity, But Hank Steinbrenner Spreads Blame Around

NEW YORK -- Hank Steinbrenner says too much blame is being directed at Alex Rodriguez for Detroit's sweep of the Yankees, and he won't address whether the slumping star will be back in New York next season. "He was just one of quite a few that just had a bad time at the plate," the team's co-chairman said Friday during a phone interview. "...

Schmidt: A-Rod was cursed once he got big contract

(Eds: Adds photos. With AP Photos.) By MIKE SCHMIDT For The Associated Press There was a time when Alex Rodriguez was touted as the guy who could relieve us of Barry Bonds as the home run king. He was young, healthy and an MVP contender every year. If anyone deserved $30 million a year, it was him. That's a stretch - ''deserve'' $30 million a year. Maybe discovering...
