After sporting his old Phoenix Coyotes-themed goalie mask throughout the preseason, new Bruins netminder Chad Johnson will now have a more consistent look when he makes his regular-season debut. Johnson, who replaces Anton Khudobin as Tuukka Rask‘s backup in Boston, will bring a rather straightforward mask to the ice this season. Johnson says he likes to have an active role in creating what he’ll wear in net. “Some guys like [Providence Bruins goalie Niklas] Svedberg are a little laid back about it, but I’m pretty hands on with my mask,” he told CSNNE.com’s Joe Haggerty. “I just told him I wanted trim on the outside with a Bruins logo that’s big enough you can see it from far away.
