Chan Ho Park last pitched for the Yankees on April 13, tossing 2 innings of one-run ball against the Angels at Yankee Stadium. Since then, though, Park has been on the disabled list with a strained right hammy, forcing the Yankees to turn to lesser relievers like Boone Logan (actually, Logan is the only guy that seems to stand out to me as a lesser option). However, according to MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch, that could change soon. Park seems to be nearing a return as he is scheduled to pitch in an extended spring game (in Florida) later today. If all goes well in that outing, Park will then toss another inning or two on Friday, in another spring game. While Park is still somewhat of a bullpen anomaly – he is unproven, really – I am looking forward to next week, when we could possibly see him back in action. During his absence the bullpen has been somewhat shaky and perhaps he can fill a hole.
