Chicago White Sox Trade Jake Marisnick to Tigers
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago White Sox have traded outfielder Jake Marisnick to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for cash considerations.

Marisnick only spent a short time with the big league ball club this season. After failing to make the Opening Day roster out of camp, the veteran outfielder spent most of his White Sox tenure with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights. After receiving a callup in mid-May, Marisnick largely failed to impress at the big-league level. He was designated for assignment by the White Sox and just recently accepted an assignment back with the Charlotte Knights on May 26th.

During his short time with the Southsiders Marisnick appeared in just nine ballgames. He was mostly as a late-innings defensive replacement or in pinch-running situations. The 32-year-old outfielder only saw two plate appearances with the White Sox and failed to record a hit in either at bat.
