There is a saying out there that Chipper Jones might want to remember the next time he goes on Twitter — think before you tweet.
The former third baseman for the Atlanta Braves sent out a tweet Saturday afternoon pondering whether or not alligators can be used to stop illegal immigrants from crossing the American-Mexican border.
It appeared to be an attempt at a joke, though, with the addition of “jk” (just kidding) at the end.
This isn’t the first time that Jones has made headlines during his retirement for a controversial statement. He also came out in defense of former Rutgers men’s basketball coach Mike Rice, who was fired for abusing his players verbally and physically.
