If I had asked you to give me a current or former athlete to defend the actions of Rutgers head coach Mike Rice, who would it be? Would Chipper Jones come to mind? Probably not. Which is why it was quite surprising to read the former Atlanta Braves great’s musings on Twitter on Wednesday evening, where he seemingly called out the Rutgers basketball players: I got cursed at and called names by a ton of people growing up. Were they fired? Nope! Do I care? Nope! What’s the big deal?
