According to Dejan Kovacevic, Vinnie Chulk has been placed on the Indianapolis Indians' disabled list due to a recurring tight right biceps. Chulk has been getting hammered, allowing 16 earned runs in just four innings this year. Chulk was one of the last relievers cut from Spring Training, and was close to making the list. He probably lost his spot when the Pirates took a flier on Hayden Penn.
Coincidentally, Chulk's move to the DL opens a spot for Penn, who accepted his outright assignment to Indianapolis yesterday. Chulk's injury was the same injury that sidelined him for a bit during Spring Training.
