Found August 21, 2012 on Redlegs Review:
Entering play on Monday, the Redlegs ranked 16th in Major League Baseball and 10th in the National League in average home attendance for 2012. Through 63 games at the friendly confines of Great American Ball Park, the franchise has pulled in an average crowd of 29,477 (1,857,062 overall). Coincidentally, they also ranked 16th and 10th in MLB and the NL, respectively, during last season with an average mark of 27,327. Their current 2012 figure is a higher home average than the likes of Atlanta (29,477), Miami (29,129), Pittsburgh (26,778) and Houston (21,140), among other NL teams playing in larger markets (based on population). I'm sure winning has helped Cincinnati's cause a bit. On the flip side, the Reds rank last in the NL (21st overall) in average road attendance with a tally of 30,789 through 59 games played. I'm inclined to think the reason for this is that opposing fan bases just don't like coming to see their team lose rather than the Reds not b...

Billy Hamilton Breaks Vince Coleman's Minor League Stolen Base Record (Video)

Billy Hamilton could be sprinting right to the major leagues come September. Hamilton, a prospect in the Cincinnati Reds organization, broke Vince Coleman's 1983 single-season minor league record of 145 steals with another impressive performance on Tuesday night. Hamilton's total now sits at 147, and it's safe to assume that number will continue to climb this season ...

Hamilton breaks steals record (video)

Last Game The Reds won a real nail-biter against the Phillies last night. Every inning either team scored changed the lead. Homer Bailey had a real strong outing against an offense that had its way with the pitching the night before, and it was a Zack Cozart homer in the top of the ninth that put the team over the top. This was a fun one to watch, and it sure is nice not to have...

The Return of Wilson Valdez: Phillies Cult Hero Returns to Philadelphia With Cincinnati Reds

A single one-inning pitching performance made Wilson Valdez a cult hero in Philadelphia.  Accordingly when Wilson Valdez was traded this offseason for left-handed reliever Jeremy Horst, widespread irrational panic broke out among Phillies fans.   Despite our Mike Frohwirth explaining that Wilson Valdez is not good at baseball at all, people worried about the Phillies chances...

The bullpen once again let the Phils down as they lose to the Reds, 5-4.

The Phils’ bullpen is once again unable to hold down the opposition in the late innings, as the Phils drop one to the Reds, 5-4. The Phils took the lead in the first as, with runners on the corners, and with one man out, Ryan Howard hits an RBI single, knocking in Jimmy Rollins, who had started the inning off by reaching first base on second baseman Brandon Phillips’ fielding...

Reds-Phillies Preview

Mike Leake wasn't too sharp the last time the Cincinnati Reds faced the Philadelphia Phillies, and the result was a historic defeat. But if Leake has the same stuff as he did in his last start, the result could be a lot different this time. The NL Central-leading Reds will try to end a six-game losing streak to the Phillies on Monday night in Philadelphia as these teams square...
