Cincinnati Reds and Tyler Stephenson Avoid Arbitration After Signing One Year Deal
© Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Reds and catcher Tyler Stephenson have agreed to a one-year, $2.525 million contract according to multiple reports. The deal means the Reds and Stephenson will avoid arbitration.

Players with three or more years of service time are eligible for arbitration.

Stephenson, 27, is coming off a struggle of a season. He hit .243 with a .696 OPS. His performance may not be totally indicative of who is behind the plate for the Reds, moving forward, but he has some questions to answer in 2024.
