Cincinnati Reds sign Jake Fraley to a One Year Deal to Avoid Arbitration

 The Cincinnati Reds and Jake Fraley have agreed to a one-year, $2.15 million contract with incentives according to multiple reports. The deal means the Reds and Fraley will avoid arbitration.

Players with three or more years of service time are eligible for arbitration.

Fraley, 28, saw the most playing time of his career last season. He played in 111 games and amassed 336 at-bats. He hit .256 with 15 home runs and 65 RBI. 

He excels against right-handed pitchers and is mostly featured against them and benched against lefties. His OPS againt righties (.815) is much higher than his OPS against lefties (.504).

His playing time may be stretched a bit this year as Spencer Steer will move to left field full time. He figures to get every day at-bats while Will Benson will garner much of the playing time in right field.
