C.J. Wilson is the latest Major League Baseball player to promote the Victoria’s Secret PINK line of female fan gear. The Angels pitcher joined model, Elsa Hosk, at the PINK Fashion Island Store in Newport Beach. The event celebrated the first PINK Store opening in Southern California. Wilson follows in the footsteps of Marlins outfielder, Logan Morrison and Blue Jays third baseman, Brett Lawrie. Both players also appeared at local stores to help unveil their team-themed collections.
The PINK MLB collection originally launched in 2010. This is the first year where gear for all 30 teams is offered. The co-branded merchandise includes a range of hoodies, tees, sweats, shorts, accessories and underwear. Items merge official team logos and colors with feminine details and quirky taglines such as “I’m A Great Catch.”
“I think 47 percent of baseball fans are female so coming up with a line of clothing that fits them better, that’s more stylish, that’s a little bit more feminine as opposed to the standard baseball stuff is actually a really good idea,” Wilson said.
