PLAYERS: Clay Buchholz
TEAMS: Boston Red Sox

Clay Buchholz was not pleased with how he started Wednesday night’s game, allowing a hit and two walks in the first inning. He was very satisfied with the outcome, though, as the right-hander surrendered just one run on five hits over seven frames en route to picking up his team-leading seventh win of the season. Buchholz has been lights out for the Red Sox all season. With the exception of a six-inning, four-run outing against Toronto on May 11, Buchholz has pitched seven or more innings in nine of his ten starts, while allowing two runs or fewer on all nine occasions. To hear what the ace had to say after his most recent win, check out the video above or visit NESN’s YouTube page.

Clay Buchholz Able to Avoid Two-Out Trouble Early, Giving Red Sox Chance at Holding Off White Sox (Video)

Most of the damage done by the Chicago White Sox against Red Sox pitching this series has come with two outs. In fact, all of it had come with two outs entering Wednesday night’s game. Clay Buchholz has done a good job of avoiding those two-out runs through the early portions of the game, but anything’s possible as the night goes on. Red Sox Hoping Clay Buchholz Can Play Stopper, But Shouldn’t Make Habit of Needing One (Video)

The Red Sox have not had a very fun trip to Chicago, as the White Sox are on the verge of a sweep on Wednesday night. Clay Buchholz will be on the mound in hopes of preventing that, and Boston would certainly hope for him to be capable. Once again, the Red Sox find themselves in need of a “stopper” to prevent a longer losing streak, and instead of turning to Jon Lester as they...

On another bright note, Jacoby Ellsbury had...

3 Stars of the Game: Game 47

Red Sox Stop the Bleeding in Chicago, End Successful Road Trip With Huge Win

Wednesday’s game in Chicago wasn’t a must-win for the Red Sox, but it held a lot of weight. The Red Sox miracle worker

Sam Galanis Contributing Writer It seems like a miracle. The Red Sox pitchers who completely lost focus somewhere before the infamous 2011 September collapse are not only back on track, but are pitching better than ever. Jon Lester is 6-1. Clay Buchholz is 6-0. Sure, there are some kinks that still need to be worked out, but Red Sox pitching is leagues ahead of where it was last...
