Yes , Tribe Baseball is here Again !! Can We Get A BIG AMEN !  I don’t about anyone else but this an exciting time a year for me ! As we fans all know when Spring Training is here , We have the hope for our team to have a great year ! Baseball is such a great sport and in C Town we love Our Tribe ! But here are some quick points about Spring Training, first I think as fans we get over critical because we lost a game or the hitting is not happening or even the pitching or defense is not looking good. Tribe Fans again it’s Spring Training all these games don’t mean anything in the win- loss column.  as long as we see progress and more importantly no one gets injured  too badly, that is more important, as we all know what happened last year ….. Let’s Not Go There !  ,Yesterday Justin Masterson got lit up ,The day before Ubaldo Jimenez had a bad inning with two infield hits and not so good defense behind him but threw 36 pitches and 27 were for strikes so that’s a positive  The hitting ...

Former Indians Pitcher Alex White Facing “Extreme DUI”

Alex White, the former first-round selection by the Cleveland Indians, may be staring at an extreme case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Otherwise considered a “choir boy” by his current general manager Dan O’Dowd, White could be facing charges of ”extreme” DUI – Driving Under the Inflence — after recording a blood-alcohol level of .174, more than...

Indians OF Trevor Crowe tells Reds player to remove his skirt when sliding

Indians outfielder Trevor Crowe came through with one of the best athlete taunts on Twitter we’ve ever seen. Crowe posted that picture of a scared Reds player bracing for contact with the catcher at homeplate during spring training. Crowe’s tweet didn’t include the name of the player in question, but his commentary was priceless “Dear Reds player, please remove skirt while...

Shelley Duncan is picking up right where he left off for the Cleveland Indians last September, tearing the cover off the baseball. Manny Acta has got to find a spot to place Duncan in. It is the perfect storm this spring. Acta thought he would have the services of Grady Sizemore after the Indians gave Grady a 5 million dollar incentive filled contract during the off season. Now Manny...

It was the battle of Ohio’s opening day starters yesterday in Cactus league play. For the Indians Justin Masterson took the mound and he struggled getting pounded for six runs over the 1-1/3 innings he pitched. Masterson didn’t look like the Masterson we knew from last season, he gave up five hits three walks and only had one strike out. Hey it is only spring training and Masterson...

Jimenez looks to rediscover winning form

GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Ubaldo Jimenez feels strong this spring. He feels healthy. He feels wanted. What a difference a year makes for the Cleveland right-hander. Originally signed by the Colorado Rockies, Jimenez used to think he would never pitch for another franchise. Then, prior to last season, the Rockies signed shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and outfielder Carlos Gonzalez to long...

The fallout from the Ubaldo Jimenez trade continues

July 30th, 2011 will be remembered by Colorado Rockies fans as a very dark day. Few fans pictured this image before the 2011 season began. As news that the team had indeed traded their ace, Ubaldo Jimenez to the Cleveland Indians, fans stood in shock. Despite a disappointing first half of 2011, Jimenez was the first true dominant pitcher in club history. Making the move even more...

This is the Most Embarrassing Photo of Someone Sliding Ever

The Cleveland Indians took on the Cincinnati Reds in a spring training game on Tuesday and the Tribe's Trevor Crowe tweeted a special photo from the game of one of the Reds (I think it's Zach Cozart) sliding into home with a less than manly look on his face. Precious!  [Trevor Crowe]

The Cleveland Indians

As TSHQ continues our 2012 MLB preseason preview, we visit one of the most of the most downtrodden sports cities in the nation: Cleveland. The last great move I can remember any Cleveland organization making happens to belong to the Indians. They traded CY Young pitcher Bartolo Colon to the Montreal Expos for prospects Cliff Lee, Grady Sizemore, and Brandon Phillips. All of these...

Sports Immortality Is Earned, Not Anointed

Photo by Jim McIsaac/Getty Images I was disappointed the other day when I heard that Cleveland Indians OF Grady Sizemore will miss 8 to 12 weeks of action with yet another injury, this time for back surgery. It was just a few short years ago that Sports Illustrated placed an exciting young player on the cover of its magazine and depicted him as one of the best players in all of baseball...
