The Cleveland Indians have released veteran infielder Mark Reynolds. On Thursday the Indians designated Reynolds for assignment and now that he has passed through waivers unclaimed the team has released him. Reynolds, 30, can be signed by anyone for the major league minimum. Cleveland will be on the hook for the remaining $2 million on his contract. Multiple contending teams will likely contact Reynolds as last week the Orioles were reportedly interested in welcoming him back. They could now do so without giving up anything. Reynolds got off to a hot start this season but had been in a prolonged slump with the Indians. For the season he holds a .215/.307/.373 line with 15 home runs and 48 RBI over 99 games.
