Joe Maddon brought cockatoo to clubhouse

Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon has a new friend. Her name is Mindy, an umbrella cockatoo. Maddon has been pushing all of the right buttons with the Rays lately, as they've won four straight. Including in that winning streak is a three-game sweep of the Oakland Athletics, who came to Tropicana Field with a 12-4 record. Maddon brought the cockatoo and her trainer into into the...

Unfortunately, we don't have any additional context about the photo, and there are too many questions that remain unanswered. Photo via @HallerDave. H/T Sports Grid. Joe Maddon brings penguins into clubhouse to get players to ‘chill out’ (pics/vid)

And the bizarre hits keep on coming related to and from Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon. Wednesday was “Joe Maddon Garden Gnome” giveaway night at Tropicana Field and perhaps in honor of the event — although it’s hard to figure out exactly how what Maddon did paid homage to him being depicted as a garden gnome — the Rays skipper invited some adorable penguins into the...

Penguins invade Tampa Bay Rays clubhouse

Everybody already knows Joe Maddon runs the loosest clubhouse in the major leagues but now everyone will probably find out it's the coolest too. How cool? On Wednesday, it was chill enough for a couple of penguins to waddle around the Tampa Bay Rays locker room  — and none of them was named Ron Cey.  The manager even let one of the flightless birds take his manager's...

Penguins Visit the Tampa Bay Rays

Penguins visited the Tampa Bay Rays' clubhouse today, reinforcing the fact that Joe Maddon is a progressive thinker. FWIW, I wouldn't leave Kyle Farnsworth alone with one of those things. Go Rays!I checked with Elias. Cliff is the first penguin ever to sit in the chair of a @mlb manager. #MaddonsMenagerie twitter.com/HallerDave/sta…— Dave Haller (@HallerDave) April 24, 2013

It’s All About The Bens

I have had Tampa Bay Rays, Ben Zobrist, on my fantasy baseball team for the past 3 years. In general, I have not been disappointed. I am not sure how I end up with him each year, but it has turned out that way lately. As with every player, there has been times where he is not performing well. But he has helped my team so I cannot complain too much. I like Zobrist for his versatility...

The story of the night deserves to be Sale, as despite not looking anywhere near his best, tossed...
