The Colorado Rockies have purchased the contract of right-handed reliever Logan Kensing from their Triple-A Colorado Springs minor league affiliate. To make room for him, they have optioned right-handed reliever Chris Volstad to the same minor league affiliate. Kensing has been dominant in Triple-A this year, keeping his earned run average to a very respectable 2.57. Kensing, who most likely will pitch in middle relief out of the bullpen, hasn’t had a major league appearance since 2009.
