Freddie Freeman is leading a team that knows how to win. If the Colorado Rockies think they are contenders, they haven't been looking across at the other dugout the last two nights. The Atlanta Braves showed why they are a team that is winning their division by a robust 10 games. The Braves are a team that pitches well, they hit well, and they lead the league in come-from-behind wins. They play with an edge that almost makes them scarier when they are losing.Atlanta is packed with talent, but one player seems to enjoy playing the Rockies slightly more than the rest of the bunch. Freddie Freeman continued his tear against the boys in purple. On Tuesday night he drilled a 1st inning home run off of Juan Nicasio, then hit a three-run shot off of Edgmer Escalona in the 7th inning to bury the Rockies.Freeman has hit 10 home runs in 20 career games against the Rockies. That ties the Rockies with the Mets for the team that he has hit the most bombs off of. The Mets, however, have played...

Downward spiral continues as Colorado Rockies dismantled by Atlanta Braves--again

Dan O'Dowd is out of ideas for the Rockies. What is left to be said? The only question that remains to be asked is, do the Colorado Rockies actually have to play out the final two months of their season? The unfortunate answer to that is "yes."Sorry to be so negative about a team that is just eight games back of first place in the National League West. Maybe there are...

Colorado Rockies lose in Atlanta, show why beating bad teams is important

Jorge De La Rosa has earned the right to have a bad outing.Interestingly enough, the Atlanta Braves were able to do what the Colorado Rockies failed to do in their 10-game homestand. Photo: Duke’s David Cutcliffe Attends Rockies-Braves Game, Meets Todd Helton, Fredi Gonzalez

There’s nothing better in the summer than a nice day at the ballpark. Yesterday, John Calipari checked in to watch the Pirates. Earlier this offseason, Jerry Kill took in the Twins, and Bo Pelini was a staple at the College World Series in Omaha. Basically, college football and basketball coaches love baseball too. Yesterday, Duke’s David Cutcliffe attended the Rockies-Braves...

Minor McCann and Freeman Big as Braves Paste Rockies

The Atlanta Braves had a 6+ run inning for the 3rd straight night against the Rockies on Wednesday.  The hot offense led the Braves to a 9-0 win, and gives them a chance to sweep the 4-game series tomorrow night.  The win for the Braves was their 6th straight. Enough cannot be said about Braves starter, Mike Minor.  Over the course of 2013, Minor has become the unofficial ace...
