Found May 12, 2012 on Rockies Review:
Is the Jamie Moyer experiment about to come to an end?Same story, different year. If you've seen one Colorado Rockies game at Dodger Stadium over the years, you've seen them all.The script usually remains the same. The Dodgers score a run or two early, while the Rockies get a few hits in the early going. It seems like the Rockies are right in it, like they might actually have a chance if they can just scratch a few runs out.The Rockies bats usually go cold, but there is nothing to worry about because the Dodgers only have a run or two and really haven't threatened too much. Then it happens. Suddenly the Dodgers get a couple of guys on base and then the unlikeliest of hitters comes through with a bloop double or a ball that finds a hole right in the perfect spot for a couple of guys to come around and score.Suddenly a game that was within reach is now 5-0 and it is the 7th inning. At Dodger Stadium, with the Rockies history in that park, may as well be a 15-0 score. The res...

Frustrating Colorado Rockies blow best career start by Juan Nicasio

Juan Nicasio was great on Saturday. The other game going on in Los Angeles featured the Colorado Rockies and the hometown Dodgers. The focus should have been squarely on the basketball game.On Saturday night, the Rockies offense couldn't support Juan Nicasio, blowing the best start of his young, courageous career. The offense allowed journeyman Aaron Harang to look like an ace...

Rockies activate Outman from DL

The Colorado Rockies activated left-hander Josh Outman from the 15-day disabled list and optioned lefty Drew Pomeranz to Class AAA Colorado Springs on Friday, the club announced. Outman had been on the DL since March 30 with an oblique injury. He has not appeared in a game with the Rockies this season. He was acquired in a trade with the Oakland A's in the offseason. He was...

What’s Up With Trevor Story?

When seeing Colorado Rockies shortstop prospect Trevor Story in person, very little about his all-around game strikes one as sexy beyond his current triple slash line of .283/.395/.535. However, as a teenager in the South Atlantic League, Story’s numbers are on par with the best middle infield prospects in the game which has led to many questions about his ceiling and comparisons...

Rockies, Moyer running out of time?

The Colorado Rockies lost 7-3 to the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday night at Chavez Ravine. The loss was the Rockies' ninth in the last 12 games and brings the club to 1-3 on the road trip with four games remaining before they see Coors Field again. Overall, the loss gives the Rockies a 13-18 record, which trails the division leading Dodgers by 7.5 games.

Dexter Fowler Pretends Field Is Lava, Impersonates Wilson From 'Home Improvement' (Caption Contest)

Rockies outfielder Dexter Fowler scaled the Dodger Stadium wall going for a ball the other night while a Los Angeles fan looked on. It made for a funny scene, and we wanted to see what NESN readers had as a caption for the photo. Here's a look at Saturday's #NESNCaption Caption Contest winners. Joe E Callahan: "Juuuust a bit too high." Brendon Cardinal: ‎"...

Rockies-Dodgers Preview

Chris Capuano is mixing his pitches well during his 18 2-3 scoreless innings streak for the Los Angeles Dodgers. It sounds similar to the formula Colorado Rockies starter Jamie Moyer has used since his big-league debut in 1986. These left-handers match up Friday night in the opener of a weekend series at Dodger Stadium. Capuano (4-0, 2.21 ERA) figured to be the Dodgers' third...
