There are some days that are better than others at this job. This police sketch – just released from August robbery – has made my week.
A man robbed the Old Exchange National Bank in Okawville on August 28, 2012.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 50 to 60 years old. He wore a maroon and white striped shirt, denim jeans, a shaggy gray wig, a red St. Louis Cardinals baseball cap, and a pair of sunglasses over a pair of prescription eyeglasses.
He fled the scene on foot. No vehicle description is available.
Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect or this crime is requested to contact the Illinois State Police at (618)542-2171.
Again, an August robbery. This isn’t a joke. Go to KFVS and watch that video. The desk jockey clearly states that this happened IN AUGUST and cops need your help.
Easily a Top 3 Cuff ‘Em story of 2012. Those are solar glasses over the prescription glasses.
Can’t stop laughing.

ST. LOUIS - When Mark McGwire returned to the game of baseball in 2010 as the Cardinals hitting coach, he did so with a promise to his wife: After every season, the two would talk and reevaluate whether or not he should continue to coach the following year.
The two also had a dream: that he could someday coach for a team closer to their home in Orange County, Ca. He got about as...

Sadly, the A’s and Rockies compete in the Cactus League, making them spring-irrelevant to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Phils, which train on the Gulf Coast of...
I'm not going to sugarcoat it... after all that drama in October, there is jack squat to write about in November. And maybe that's being kind.
The news wires are filled with the lamest Cardinals news and various Bleacher Report slideshows. The Cardinals front office is on vacation. And the free-agent signing period is still not open.
Long story short...

In the National League Silver Slugger Awards announced Thursday night, the St. Louis Cardinals were shut out for the second consecutive season. At catcher, San Francisco’s Buster Posey took the honor, beating Yadier Molina and others.
In the NL outfield, Carlos Beltran (three-time winner) and Matt Holliday (four-time winner) missed out as Ryan Braun, Andrew McCutchen and...

Was the St. Louis Cardinals hiring of Mike Matheny last year the start of a new trend? Is he a trailblazing hire that other general managers in MLB will mimic?
With what is happening in the MLB and the recent hiring of Walt Weiss as the Colorado Rockies manager, the trend seems to be continuing.
Last year, there were two "true" rookie managers that were hired, Robin...
The St. Louis Cardinals come into the 2012 offseason having won a World Series in 2011 and falling one game short of returning to the Fall Classic in 2012. The team, for the most part, is set at almost every position. They have publicly said they will be exploring the option of upgrading the middle infield, the only two spots on the team that anyone can easily look at and say...
