SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Patrick Corbin has pitched extremely well this spring, and it probably won't be enough to make Arizona's opening-day roster.
Corbin tossed five hitless innings to lift the Diamondbacks to a 7-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.
The left-hander struck out three and walked two while lowering his spring ERA to 0.57.
"The first two innings I was a little rusty and was trying to find the strike zone," Corbin said. "After that it went away and I was able to throw all my pitches."
The 22-year-old Corbin was acquired in the July 2010 trade that sent ace Dan Haren to the Los Angeles Angels. He likely will begin the season at Double-A Mobile.
"No matter where I start this year, I am glad I got the chance to show them what I have, "Corbin said. Hopefully I will get a shot."
Corbin also impressed at the plate, going 2 for 2 with a triple and an RBI. Geraldo Parra added two hits for Arizona.
