This was not the news I wanted to see when I checked on the sports links after getting home from work. Carl Crawford had surgery on his left wrist today. Crawford started feeling soreness as he began his baseball activities and had an MRI to check out the problem. The MRI showed cartiledge damage and surgery was recommended. They have not put a specific timeline on Crawford's recovery, but it doesn't look like he will be ready for Opening Day. However, it also looks like he won't miss a lot of time in the season either. Cheringon did say that he was optimistic that Crawford would play the "bulk of the season." Ryan Kalish will not be ready on Opening Day and Josh Reddick was sent to Oakland as part of the Andrew Bailey trade, so the options for the outfield without Crawford are Ryan Sweeney, Darnell McDonald and Mike Aviles. No offense DMac and Aviles, but that as an outfield option isn't leaving me brimming with confidence. Let's hope Crawford...
