On the last official day of the winter meetings, the Cubs pulled off a trade, acquiring third baseman Ian Stewart from the Colorado Rockies for infielder DJ LeMahieu and outfielder Tyler Colvin. Stewart, 26, figures into the mix replace Aramis Ramirez at third base for the Cubs. Stewart hit .156 with six doubles and six RBI in 48 games with the Rockies last season.
