The Arizona Diamondbacks surprised many by re-signing Joe Saunders after having committed $16 million to left fielder Jason Kubel. Pecuniary issues aside, keeping Saunders in the fold after acquiring Trevor Cahill earlier in the offseason may give the D-backs the best starting rotation in the NL West and one of the top rotations in all of the National League.
